Giving Back

We are all passionate about our charitable work and the volunteering that we do within our community. I’m sure each and every one of you give back to your local community. Guild West Agency is no different yet for us giving back has become very personal.

Heidi’s Story

On a busy day, late 2008, I received a call that rocked my world. It was three words that would change my life forever – “you have cancer”. Those who know me know how vitally important healthy eating and exercise has always been to me. The marketing world is always fast-paced and to be at the top of your game you need to be physically fit. I was leaving on a business trip, I had to pick the kids up from school and I didn’t have time for cancer!

As if cancer, Guild West Agency, my husband and two incredible sons didn’t keep me busy enough, I decided that during cancer treatment was a great time to become Guild West Agency’s social media expert. Mission accomplished. I am now a cancer survivor and a top social media expert.

Here’s where the story gets good. I now have a new mission! I combined my extensive marketing and social media expertise with my drive to find a cure for cancer, to help and support cancer patients, caregivers, and fellow survivors. I am proud to be one of the top fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society; keynote speaker at cancer events ranging from 150 – 500 attendees; regularly quoted in national publications and I have appeared in 5 Pink Glove Dance videos – some of the links are below. The most recent video for the American Cancer Society recently won a TELLY Award in the category of “Motivation”.
