Facebook rolled out their NEW Page Layout this week to a select few users. I was fortunate enough to be one of the first. What I noticed was it was more of a time warp back to Facebook from 5+ years ago. Here’s what I mean!

Yes, Mark Zuckerberg surprised Facebook with an impromptu Q&A. For one hour, he answered as many questions as he could. Mark fielded questions from all over the world ranging from simple to the more esoteric many were personal and his candor on some challenging issues facing Facebook surprised me. Here’s what you missed:
Social Media Examiner’s Social Media Marketing World 2015 combined all the best of the digital social media realm with engaging, interacting and networking with peers and thought leaders in the social media marketing world. If you didn’t have the time to attend take just a few minutes and take a look at my top takeaways.

I have always had the uncanny ability to resolve challenging situations with clever solutions yet this is one for the record books!
This is a perfect example of the power of Facebook and more importantly the friends we follow for getting the word out about important events. As I was dashing out the door Thursday to a host of important meetings I noticed that Facebook friends and social media superstar Peg Fitzpatrick was coming to California. I sent her a quick message and discovered she was coming to my home city for BlogHer ’14.
She suggested that I attend. My day was already heavily booked with meetings ending at 8:30 PM and starting all over early morning on Friday. I did a little research and Tweeted my questions to @BlogHer and (Diane Lang) Momo promptly responded! I decided that BlogHer ’14 was an event not to be missed and I’m so glad I did because it was an incredible conference, here’s why.
Great marketing is still marketing regardless of the tools you use or the time it takes. Marketing, in various forms, has been around since the beginning of time. Old school ad agencies were highly effective in their day yet cutting edge digital marketing is taking things to a whole new level.
This years’ f8 theme is to Build a Stable Mobile Platform and support the Mobile Eco System! Mark Zuckerberg opened Facebook’s 2014 f8 with a new and improved message for developers and Facebook users. One of the biggest challenges for App Developers today is they have to build their app across multiple platforms. You have to build your app for iOS, Android, Microsoft and the Web. Facebook has a new solution, the Cross Platform Platform (not a typo that’s what he said).
